Spring Into Hope and Celebration

I love the changing seasons! Spring reminds me of new life and the hope that every new budding plant and emerging blade of grass brings. If you’re pregnant with your first child, you are probably filled with a combination of excitement, hope and maybe a little bit of apprehension. Every new pregnancy brings fresh excitement and hope. Each baby born is a wonderful reminder from God that life truly is a miracle!

In this issue you’ll learn about the upcoming March of Dimes walk for Life. You’ll also see some disturbing statistics about the state of infant mortality in Alabama. Another fascinating article deals with plagiocephaly, and writer Betsy Roberts offers resources for parents who are dealing with this problem. Donna Mielke, and IBCLC from Huntsville Hospital has some great tips for getting breastfeeding off to a good start. And of course, you won’t want to miss Amy George’s terrific column. Once again, I cried as I read it, so have your box of tissues handy!

In May we will have our second Celebrate Mama event to benefit Choose Life of North Alabama. You can read all about it in this issue. You won’t want to miss our Christian Schools for Life feature either. We’re so excited about raising money for Choose Life this way!
